Dear Parent,

Does the thought of your young adult idling away their summer days unsettle you?

Fret not!

The Silver City Gospel Mission, in collaboration with Hunger Free America, offers an extraordinary summer opportunity that could be a stepping-stone for your child’s future.

We’re on a quest to recruit six passionate Summer Associate VISTAs, dedicated to combating food insecurity and catalyzing positive change.

If your young adult is eager to make a difference and prepare for college and life beyond, this opportunity could be a perfect match! What sets our 10-week, full-time AmeriCorps Summer Vista Program apart?

Here’s the crux:

• Direct Impact: Engage in meaningful initiatives like tending to our community garden and aiding our food pantries.
• Skill Acquisition: Gain practical skills and experiences that supplement academic learning and prepare your young adult for the real world.
• Professional Development: Benefit from tailored training that bridges the gap between theory and practice.
• Rewards and Recognition: Earn a living stipend, with a choice of an AmeriCorps Education or Cash Award upon completion.
• Legacy: Become part of our mission to create a more food-secure future.

This isn’t a typical summer job - it’s a transformative expedition.

We welcome all candidates passionate about anti-hunger work, a flexible mindset, value teamwork, and have experience working in diverse communities. Applicants must be 18 years or older.

Time is of the essence.

The program commences on June 12th or June 20th, and the application deadline is 10 am MST on May 26th!

Don’t hesitate.

Visit us between 10 am and 3 pm at the Silver City Gospel Mission at 111 S. Texas St. in downtown Silver City, behind Jalisco’s Restaurant, or apply online at https://silvercitygospelmission.org/apply-now/.

Help your young adult step into a meaningful, purpose-filled summer that propels them towards a successful future.

P.S. Remember, an unforgettable summer experience is merely an application away. But time waits for no one - the deadline is this Friday, May 26th. Don’t let this opportunity fly by!

P.P.S. Visualize the pride and satisfaction you’ll feel knowing your young adult is making a real difference and gearing up for their future. The clock is ticking - apply today!
