To hear Joe Biden and Kamala Harris tell the story of January 6th 2021, you would think this nation would be at war today. Comparing it to Pearl Harbor, the Civil War, or September 11th is one of the most asinine things that has ever come out of a politician's mouth. Thousands of people died in those attacks on America. One person died on January 6th and that person was shot by a capital police officer. But there is one fact about what happened on January 6th that should make you question everything about what has happened since.

Before I ask the question I would encourage each of you to do a quick Internet search and watch the videos from the events of that day. You can see the capitol police officers removing the barriers and literally waving people into the capitol building. Cameras inside the capitol captured what looks more like a tour group taking a leisurely walk through the building rather than an insurrection. No one is tearing paintings off the wall or destroying statues. In fact those that made it into the chambers were actually accompanied by capitol police officers who were casually walking with them and talking to them.

And that is the fact I am talking about. What do you think would happen on any day if you climbed a fence or bypassed a barrier or security checkpoint? You would have a number of officers coming out of the woodwork and taking you down within seconds. Even if several of you tried to do so, you would immediately be facing the business end of dozens of guns being wielded by officers trained and ready to shoot you if you make one wrong move. Those officers are trained to protect those buildings and the people inside of them by using deadly force. We have seen it happen dozens of times.

But why not this time? Why did officers not only invite people to come into the Capitol building, but why did they not do their job? Why were officers told to stand down? Why did officers walk along with the insurrectionists like they were giving a tour to VIPs?

We know that the night prior to the alleged riot, the police were notified by the FBI that there had been some chatter on social media about a demonstration to take place on January 6th. Normally the police officers would call in extra personnel and have some of them already prepared for a riot. They would make a great show of force dressed in their riot gear and standing between the building and the alleged attackers. But none of that happened. Why? That is the question the January 6th Commission should be asking. Supposedly the Republicans are going to conduct their own investigation but we know that will be nothing more than show and result in no bombshells or actual evidence being revealed.

This is part of a bigger picture that is taking place in our country right now. Keeping us divided along the lines of racism. There is only one thing that has ever come close to destroying this country and that is racial division. The authoritarians know that if they can keep us divided along the lines of race they have a much better chance of taking more control of our lives and infringing upon our rights. They will fundamentally change this country and the world along with it. It's time to stop focusing on all of these 'little' distractions and see what is truly happening. It is time to stop it.
