Sealed bids for the general construction of “BID #2023-2024-08 Harrison Schmitt Elementary Parking Lot Project, Phase 2” will be received by the Business Office at the Administrative Offices located at 2810 N. Swan Street, Silver City, New Mexico until 2:00 PM, MST, Monday, January 8, 2024. At that time all bids received before closing will be publicly opened at the Administrative Office and read aloud. Any Bids received after closing time will be returned unopened. Bidders are invited to submit bids for the construction work listed on the bid form.

Specifications and contract documents may be examined, without charge, in the Business Office at the Administrative Office at the above address where they are on file for public inspection. As well as on the District website;  In the departments tab under the Business Office, by requesting a copy of the documents from Andrea Martin at  or by phone at 575-956-2030.

Bid security is required of the General Contractor, in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the largest possible total for the bid submitted, on an acceptable bidder’s bond, as a guarantee that, if awarded the contract, the bidder will enter into a contract promptly and execute the required performance bond and payment bond.

Bidders are advised that the following is included in the contract:

1.     Liquidated damage clause
2.     State Wage Rates (if applicable)
3.     Public Works and Apprenticeship and Training Act
4.     5% preference applicable to qualified New Mexico Contractors
5.     Bid Security, Performance Bonds and Payment Bonds shall be required (if applicable)
6.     Allowance/Change Order
7.     A Non- Mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for Monday, December 18, 2023 at 9:30 AM, MDT at Harrison Schmitt Elementary, 4042 NM-90 outside the front office.

The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities or informalities.
