Kevin Cook of Freeport McMoRan Inc. Community Development oversees the local process
Cook explained that the applications were due last December 1. A selection team received a matrix to evaluate and score the various applications. Thirty-six were turned into Freeport this year.
After a the scores from corporate personnel and the local selection team were combined, the team members determined which applicants they would invite to a interview process. At the end of that day, the awards and the amounts that each accepted applicant was to receive were determined.
