Jim Zawacki, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3347 commander, and his wife, Connie, each year for the past eight have placed flags, memorial placards and have held brief ceremonies at Gough Park to commemorate Sept. 11, 2001, when the U.S. was attacked in New York City, Washington D.C. and Shanksville, Penn. More than 3,000 people were killed in the incidents.
