During public input toward the beginning of the meeting, Sheriff Raul Villanueva recognized the winning essay writers for the D.A.R.E. program, led by Sgt. Frank Gomez, Deputy Regan Aguirre and Cpl. Manny Maldonado. "This year we concentrated on fifth graders," Villanueva said.
Gomez said the group held three graduations.
Recognized were Jayden Pierpont, Matthew Garrison, Ricky Vasquez, Mikayla Martinez, Audri Mondello and Chukwu Odocha.
