Upon officers arrival they were informed by victim # 2 that family members were sitting around the dinner table for Thanksgiving dinner when Ruben Galindo Sr. (suspect) became irate at Victim # 1. Mr. Galindo began verbally threatening victim # 1. Mr. Galindo then picked up a Corona beer bottle and raised it as if he were going to strike victim # 1. Victim # 1 stated to officers that she felt that she was going to be struck by the beer bottle.
Victim # 2 then advised officers that he got in between Mr. Galindo and victim # 1 to prevent any physical violence. Victim # 2 stated that he and his family began picking up items in preparation to leave. Mr. Galindo then retrieved an orange San Francisco bat approximately 2 feet in length.
While outside near the porch area, Mr. Galindo swung the bat three times at Victim # 2's head. Victim # 2 stated that he was struck by the final 2 swings on the left side of his head and eye area.
Mr. Galindo was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Battery and Assault on a household member. Mr. Galindo was booked into the Grant County Detention Center under a $1500.00 bond.
