A bowl glazing workshop, to prepare the ceramic bowls for the Empty Bowls Community Dinner, took place at Syzygy Tile on Saturday. About 50 people participated throughout the day, painting designs on the bowls and sealing them with a ceramic glaze preparatory to firing.
The finished bowls will be used during the Empty Bowls Community Dinner on October 28. For a $20 donation, diners will receive a bowl to fill with homemade soup; bread and cookies will also be offered. And the diners can take their bowls home with them.
The event, benefiting the Grant County Food Pantry will be held at the Volunteer Center from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm.
