Shakespeare in the Park, a production by the Silver City Community Theater took place in Gough Park on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019. Director Frost McGahey, a Shakespeare scholar came up with the idea and got it rolling.
"Wendy Spurgeon gave the performance the polish it needed to be such a hit," MeCahey said. "She improved the sonneteers’ and the characters’ delivery, smoothed out exits and entrances, and made the comedic bits work. The smartest thing I did was to make her my Co-Director. I knew Shakespeare, but not acting. Her experience and helpfulness made this a delight for the cast and the audience. Kudos to her for doing such a fine job."
