October 2, 2019, Silver City, NM – Gila Regional Medical Center (GRMC) recognized its partnership between Gila Regional Emergency Medical Services (GREMS) and the Town of Silver City Fire Department (SCFD) with a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed by City Manager, Alex Brown, and Taffy Arias, GRMC Chief Executive Officer, on Wednesday, October 2, in the GRMC Administrative Offices.
Arias, along with GRMC Board of Trustees Chair, Tony Trujillo, and community and GRMC leaders, highlighted the collaboration that has grown to help the Gila Regional EMS and Silver City fire Department work closer together to benefit our local communities. Arias said: “This updated agreement between Gila Regional Emergency Medical Services and the Town of Silver City Fire Department assures that the citizens of our city and our county will receive the best EMS service possible. Thank you to the Town of Silver City Fire Department – and our EMS team – for all they do each and every day.”
Eloy Medina, Director of GREMS added, “This MOU ensures that the Silver City Fire Department has the appropriate supplies and pharmaceuticals when they arrive on a call. We have developed processes together through our supply chain abilities with the GRMC Materials Management and Pharmacy Departments to ensure adequate supplies, and medication procurement, storage, waste, and related documentation on both State and Federal levels, are available to the Silver City Fire Department.”
