Silver City, NM – The first new student residence halls since the construction of Centennial Hall in 1993 will be open for the fall semester. The community is invited to an Open House for the Mustang Village student apartments on Thursday, August 15 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The public will get to experience the first phase of the Mustang Village apartment that includes 35 apartment units and a total of 175 beds. The apartment units are structured to have five bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room and a kitchenette.
“We are excited to have a new campus living option for our students,” said Dr. Jason Smith, Dean of Students and Director of Housing and Residence Life. “The Mustang Village apartments will open new opportunities for learning and living experiences that we didn't have before.”
Mustang Village apartments were constructed to meet Leadership in Energy EfficientDesign (LEED) standards. Energy efficient elements were included in the installation of parking lot lights and in the surrounding landscaping.
