When Beso's leg had to be removed at the tender age of 6 weeks, he probably didn’t know he would be considered just about the cutest puppy this side of the Mississippi. But that’s pretty much what’s happened and according to Laurie West, owner of Puppy Dog Ranch Rescue where he has been taken care of since then, Beso steals the hearts of all those he meets. So it was no surprise to West when Mountain Ridge Ace Hardware employees wanted to take turns holding what they now refer to as their little mascot, while she was there to hang posters for Puppy Dog Ranch's upcoming Tex-Mex BBQ fundraiser.

Ben Sine, owner of Ace Hardware on Hwy 180 in Silver City, has long been a Puppy Dog Ranch supporter and adopted a dog from the Rescue. He is a major sponsor for the upcoming fundraiser that will happen on Sunday, August 18, 2013 from noon to 6 pm at Puppy Dog Ranch in Arenas Valley. Along with Ace employees, Beso and the other PDR dogs, people will be able enjoy covered seating, beautiful views, a 1/2 mile walking trail, live music, delicious food, the PDR Re-Tail Booth all while they hang out at the Canine Cantina and have a cold one and $2 taco. And if they are so inclined, people can have their friends and family members arrested by Sheriff Shaggy and his Deputy Dawgs for $1!

It's all in fun, and it's all going to a good cause: to raise money to help support Puppy Dog Ranch, the only NO KILL, NO CAGE dog rescue within 125 miles of Silver City.

Ace employees will be there to cheer people on as they engage in golf putting and chipping competitions throughout the day as well as participate in the 50/50 cash raffle.

Puppy Dog Ranch Recue and Sanctuary is located at 27 Twin Sisters Creek Road, Arenas Valley, NM 88022. For information, to donate or volunteer for the Tex-Mex BBQ Fundraiser, call Laurie West at (575) 313-7232. For the safety of attendees and dogs, attendees must be 13 years and older, and pets must remain in their homes. Www.puppydogranch.org
