The Grant County Art Guild is preparing for another big weekend at the Pinos Altos Art Gallery. On Friday, August 16, watercolor artist Barbara Kejr will be the featured artist. She will be there to show you around the historic Hearst Church, the seasonal home for the Guild. Barbara has been a past winner of annual art competitions with her southwestern landscapes.
A very creative photographer and artist, Carmen Ruiz will be at the gallery to greet visitors on Saturday, August 17. Her unique approach to photography and art won praise and blue ribbons from the judges at the Members Only Show. Her work is a must-see.
Karen Muench will be showing her whimsical and colorful Southwestern folk art as the featured artist on Sunday August 18. Karen says that imagination is an important component of her artistic process. The wildlife that frequents the bird sanctuaries at her home are an inspiration in her watercolor paintings.
The Pinos Altos Art Gallery is the chosen location of 40-plus local fine artists and crafters to display and sell their best work. The public is invited to visit the gallery from 10 a.m. till 5 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday through October 6. It's a piece of history and art all rolled up in one. And admission is free.
