San Vicente Artists of Silver City announces that it has a different Board of Directors for the coming year. The President is Camille Painter Davis, Vice President is Libby Beck. Secretary is shared between Arlene Sarkela and Joanne Schuchardt and board members at large are Jean-Robert Beffort and David Mulvenna. We are seeking someone to volunteer as treasurer since the last one has found she can not serve this year.

Vickie's Eatery is now the drop off point for SVA. Silver Spirit Gallery and Luanne Brooten are no longer involved in any SVA operations.

New guides will be available for pickup at the Artist Lair Gallery after July 28 and they will be for 2 years. All members are encouraged to pick up their guides and get a few extra to mail to friends. The SVA website has been updated so check it out at silvercityartists.org and updates will be posted there.

There are three art shows scheduled for this fall. The first is in conjunction with the Gila River Festival and is the annual SVA Landscape Show to be held at the Artist Lair Gallery in the old Elk's Club. Entry applications will be available by AU 1 and entries will cost $10 per piece or 4 for $35. This will be a juried and judged show. Invitations to The Black Range Artist Association, Deming Arts Council and Grant County Art Guild have been sent for their members to participate. A good turnout of art is expected. Sponsors for awards are being sought and artists are needed to sit the show..

The second show is the annual member show. That will be held the two weekends of the Red Dot Tour at the Artist Lair Gallery. Entry fees are again $10 per entry with $35 for 4 This will also be a sponsored and judged show. Please sign up to sit the show.

The final show is a brand new one for SVA and will be our 3-D show which will cover jewelry, pottery, sculpture and mixed media (any 3-D work) for judged categories. It will be held Thanksgiving weekend at the Artist Lair Gallery for people wanting to purchase Christmas presents or something special for themselves. It will be judged, but on a body of work, not individual pieces, so the awards will be spread out. The main requirement is that each piece is priced under $100 so people will buy more. Entry fee per artist will be $20 (SVA members entry is $10) with 10% of sales going to SVA. Each artist will be expected to sit part of the show to take money for items purchased and once again, we will be seeking sponsors.

All shows will be well publicized so a good turnout of artists and viewers is expected. Please make notes on your calendar of the date.
