Come enjoy a late afternoon history talk and power point presentation in the beautiful Mimbres Valley. David Mercer will present GEORGETOWN, NM MINING AND THE MIMBRES MILLS at the Roundup Lodge on April 26 at 5 PM. Mercer is interning with the Imogen F. Wilson Education Foundation at the Mimbres Culture Heritage Site, a 501(c)3. A Master's Degree student at NMSU, Mercer lives in the Mimbres Valley and is very interested in its history. Dr. Granville Wood, who homesteaded the old Mattock's Ruin site, had interests in mining as well as many other settlers in the valley. Mercer has researched the connections from Georgetown to the Mimbres.
