ALBUQUERQUE - Governor Susana Martinez announced today that she has appointed Beverly Singleman of Las Cruces as a magistrate judge for Doña Ana County. Singleman is a private practice attorney, specializing in water law, probate law, contracts, and labor law. She previously worked for over 20 years at Hubert & Hernandez, LLC in Las Cruces. She has also served as a judge for the New Mexico Court of Appeals. Singleman earned her B.A. in Social Work from the University of Iowa and earned her law degree from the University of Arizona.
"With a diverse background as an attorney, I am confident that Ms. Singleman will use her experience to serve capably as a magistrate judge," said Governor Martinez. "She has demonstrated a deep understanding of the law and she will be a strong public servant for the people of New Mexico."
Singleman fills the seat vacated by the retirement of former Judge Olivia Nevarez Garcia.
