SILVER CITY, NM — Silver City MainStreet Project is excited to announce July's Kick-Ass Entrepreneurs — Silver City (KAE-SC) Story Time featuring Flowers on 11th. The Entrepreneur Story Time will take place at Little Toad Creek, 200 N Bullard St, in downtown Silver City on Wednesday, July 12th at 5:30 pm. The event is free and open to the public.
Join us for Story Time and learn about how the brilliant and artistic LaRea Holladay of Flowers on 11th became a Kick-Ass Entrepreneur! You won't want to miss this unique story on July 12th! Come learn how the multi-generational Silver Citian, LaRea, who never had a single hour of training in her field became a gifted florist. At age 16 she worked in a chain flower shop called Conroy's Florist in California where she was raised, she found something she truly loved to do and decided to make a career out of it. As she moved from place to place she honed in her skills. After she and most of her family returned to Silver City, she bought Silver City FloralCo. and she quickly made the shop her own where you can order masterfully designed floral arrangements and find unique gifts and award-winning fudge.
"Flowers on 11th fills an important niche in our community," said Silver City MainStreet Project Executive Director, Sharla Lefkowitz-Oberg. "We can't wait to her LaRea's unique story!"
Attendees are encouraged to arrive at 5:30 pm to enjoy complementary snacks and non-alcoholic beverages along with a bit of schmoozing before Story Time kicks off at 6:00 pm. The story will be followed by time for more schmoozing.
KAE-SC provides entrepreneurs of all ages and stages, across all industries, and throughout Grant County the opportunity to share their stories with an engaged audience of local fans, curious community members, and potential partners. Entrepreneurs share the inside story, including what worked for them and what resources and people helped them along the way. Each month the approximately two-hour event is hosted at different venues providing the hosts the opportunity to share their stories, as well.
Everyone is welcome at KAE-SC. The fun, social format provides attendees with the opportunity to mingle, network, and meet new friends with similar interests. The events are a great way to learn about local businesses and enjoy different host businesses.
