Advised a female in a green Toyota Tacoma hit a tree and she is intoxicated and the doors are locked/she is not responding to caller/before the firehouse in Buckhorn. GEMS-no responders. EMS1 advised to launch Native to scene/advise Cliff-Gila Fire and advise them to let us know if patient needs extraction.

A named male is here causing issues. Officer requested GCSO assist and transport the male home/nothing physical at this time, only verbal. Deputy advised en route to Mimbres Yucca Street in Upper Mimbres.

A named male in a grey hoodie is following her to her job. Officer had negative contact.

Welfare check
3420 E. Highway 180 – 1:10 a.m.
A named female is at this location yelling. Officer advised contact with the female/she is leaving the property.

“The Evolutionary Aspects of Religion”

 Explaining religious beliefs as a product of natural processes and brain functioning is accepted methodology among evolutionary biologists, psychologists and anthropologists.  Beth Leuck will introduce some of these ideas as an intriguing way to study religion. Concepts such as cultural evolution, group selection, fitness, and memes will be explained and used to theorize about the success of different religions, with an emphasis on Christianity in its many forms.

  Beth Leuck is a retired biology professor who has always had an interest in evolutionary biology and animal behavior and the application of both to human behavior.  She has taught classes for undergraduate and graduate students and has given numerous talks to groups about the evolution of human behavior.

For its evening program on Friday, February 16, 2024, at 7:00 pm, the Gila Native Plant Society has asked longtime GNPS members and garden volunteers Betsy Kaido and Elroy Limmer to give a presentation on “The History of the Silva Creek Botanical Garden.” The program will be presented live at Harlan Hall on the WNMU Campus in Room 111, as well as via Zoom for those who prefer to attend online. As always, the public is welcome. Anyone interested in joining in the Zoom presentation may request a link from gilanative@gmail.com .

Grant County board receives supportive funding, seeks LRO applications

The Emergency Food & Shelter National Board Program, a federal program administered by the U.S Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency, announced that Grant County has been awarded $9104 to supplement and expand ongoing efforts to provide shelter, food, and supportive services for the hungry and homeless and for those in economic crisis.

Caller advised she received a call from her niece saying she was fighting with her boyfriend/he pulled out a razor on her. Caller went to pick her up and he won't let her come out. Caller is standing by outside. Caller called back advising her niece came out and she does not want to report anything.

Subject is on Chino property/LE will have to be escorted in and out on Groundhog Road.

A named female in her late 70s is arguing with caller and he wants her removed. Second caller advised the male was yelling at her saying he has a traumatic brain injury and just left the room/advised she doesn’t have a way to get her belongings back to the Drifter.

Harassment
Kimberly Drive
Caller is the caretaker of a named male and he just threatened caller/caller is running from the male around the car right now/last week he injured the caller. Officer requested ambulance for caller/no complaints/late 70s.
