Martha Martinez Del Rio will describe her volunteer work with Citizen Climate Lobby (CCL) and explain what the organization does to create political will for climate solutions. Their mission is to enable individual breakthroughs in the exercise of personal and political power to create a livable world, and to address climate change.
The organization focuses on empowering individuals to respectfully reach out to local officials, friends and neighbors, to inform and build partnerships in support of climate change solutions and promote a transition to a renewable energy economy. CCL advocates for effective climate legislation, including a "carbon fee and dividend" approach to pricing carbon pollution from fossil fuels.

Caller's brother is homeless and caller has not spoken to him since April. Officer made contact with brother at SOS/everything is okay/contacted caller and let her know her brother is okay.
NM Rep. Luis Terrazas will speak to Rotary about the upcoming legislative session, which commences January 21, 2025.
The Rotary Club will meet at noon this Tuesday, Jan. 7 in the HMS main conference room at 1007 N. Pope Street. There is a brief "meet and greet", a short business meeting and then the speaker has the floor. The club welcomes members of the public to the meetings.
Rotary is an organization of business and professional persons united worldwide to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. Since its founding in 1923, the Silver City Rotary Club has provided support and service to numerous non-profit organizations and civic causes in Silver City and Grant County as well as supporting and participating in humanitarian projects sponsored by Rotary International.
Silver City, NM, December 30, 2024–Grant County Sheriff Raul Villanueva will be the guest speaker at the January 7th meeting of PFLAG Silver City, 6:00 PM, at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 3845 N. Swan. Light refreshments will be served, and the public is invited.
Sheriff Villanueva will discuss personal safety strategies and how the Grant County community can help to keep one another safe.
Following the sheriff's presentation, there will be time for sharing and support.

Caller from Blake's Lotabuger said a male in a gray car threw his phone at the window/said he ordered online but when he got there no online order was waiting so he got upset and threw his phone. No damage to the window. Deputy went traffic with grey Mustang on Highway 180 – MM 117 (1 mile west of Uncle Woody's Flea Market)
