Village of Corrales, NM -- The New Mexico Environment Department is offering free water testing for E. coli and other analytical parameters for residents of the Village of Corrales with private wells serving homes not connected to a public water utility. Water testing will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2013, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Village of Corrales Community Recreation Center, 500 Jones Road, Corrales, New Mexico 87048.
To participate in the water testing event you will need to provide two water samples. One sample requires a specialized bottle which may be picked up with instructions at the following locations:
· Village of Corrales Office, 4324 Corrales Road, Corrales, New Mexico, from August 12th -13th, between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm or from the
· Village of Corrales Community Recreation Center on the morning of the testing event and return the bottle with water prior to 1:00 pm.
· The second sample must be in a clean glass or plastic container that is completely full (at least a liter).
If available, please provide well depth, depth to water, well casing material (i.e., steel, pvc) and distance from well to the nearest septic tank/leachfield system.
Drinking water will be tested on site for the following parameters: E. coli, Arsenic, Nitrate, Manganese, Iron, Electrical Conductivity and pH.
