Albuquerque, New Mexico - New Mexico Association of Counties' (NMAC) President and Los Alamos County Clerk Sharon Stover attended the 58th New Mexico Municipal League's (NMML) Annual Conference held in Albuquerque September 2-4, 2015. Municipal officials and employees from around the state attended the conference. Los Alamos is an incorporated city/county government and a member of both NMAC and NMML. Los Alamos County is the only Class H County in the state.
Stover spoke at the luncheon honoring past presidents on Thursday, September 3, 2015. She recognized the leadership of the organizations, their past presidents, and the vision each share. "My focus areas as President is for county officials and their citizens to better understand the role and mission of NMAC, as well as hearing their perspectives on issues of mutual concern and to begin the collaborative process to achieve impactful solutions", said NMAC President Sharon Stover.
Founded in 1936 and incorporated in 1968, NMAC is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization governed by New Mexico county elected officials and employees. Its mission is to serve as a statewide voice for all counties in New Mexico. It provides counties with legislative representation, research, training and assistance in improving the administration and financing of county government. The association offers insurance to counties covering workers' compensation and property, casualty and liability insurance.
