The New Mexico Restaurant Association ( €œNMRA €) is helping its member restaurants gain access to the latest in technology tools in order to survive and thrive in this competitive and ever changing industry.

Select companies that serve the restaurant industry will be showing off their innovative solutions in conjunction with NMRA €™s annual recognition and awards dinner on September 14th at the Albuquerque Convention Center. The theme of the Awards Dinner is €œThe Game Changer €. Innovative technologies that will be represented are: Aloha, App Wizard, Electronic Money Company, Heartland, HotSchedules, JobSabi, Lavu, PNM, RedBook Connect and Schoox.

Albuquerque based entrepreneur, Andy Lim of Lavu Point of Sale, will be demonstrating the benefits of his product. Lavu is a software and technology company based in Albuquerque; they offer a full-featured iPad point of sales app for restaurants. Used in over 80 countries on six continents, the iPad app is a modern solution developed specifically for restaurants, bars and nightclubs, quick serve businesses, and other hospitality industries.

€œThese emerging technologies are game changers in our industry, € says Carol Wight, CEO of the statewide member organization. €œWith increasing food and labor costs, restaurants are embracing new technologies to better manage their operations in order to provide the best possible dining experiences and stay in business. €

The two technology trends the NMRA is highlighting are: integrated management tools that allow operators to successfully manage and integrate all aspects of their operations, and mobile applications that operate on smart phones and tablets.

€œTechnologies need to be effective across the many functions of a restaurant from taking orders to managing schedules, and the tools need to work on all types of devices from desktop computers to phones, € says Wight.

NMRA will also unveil their own new website and an app for their members to keep pace with the ever-changing industry. The website is slick, easy to navigate and most of importantly of all, mobile-friendly. The app is an easy place for restaurateurs to get up-to-date news, discounts and even information on the latest scams effecting restaurants.
