New cohort of tech startups join TechSprint program at NMSU

The Scale Up New Mexico program, funded in part by the United States Economic Development Administration and housed at New Mexico State University's Arrowhead Center, has announced a new cohort of startups for the fall 2023 TechSprint accelerator program.

Tech-based startups play a pivotal role in the economic development of New Mexico. By fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, these startups bring about job creation, attract investment and drive economic growth in the state. They contribute to the diversification of industries, particularly in the technology and high-tech sectors, which not only enhances the overall resilience of the economy but also provides opportunities for skilled workers.

"New Mexico's future lies in nurturing and empowering tech-based startups. By providing them with the necessary support and training, we can unleash their disruptive potential, propelling our state to the forefront of technological advancements and positioning us as a leading hub for innovation and economic prosperity," said Carlos Murguia, Scale Up NM program manager.

After a rigorous selection process, Scale Up NM has chosen 10 startups to participate in the program. The cohort of 10 tech-based startups consists of companies from different locations across New Mexico, all with a common goal of commercializing innovative technologies. These startups represent various industries, including educational technology, gaming, climate technology, assistive communication, military, health technology, biotech and outdoors, among others.



The selected startups will receive feedback, objectives-setting and mentorship from technology commercialization and entrepreneurship experts to help them accelerate their growth and bring their ideas to market.

"These startups are the catalysts of change, challenging traditional markets and inspiring entrepreneurship," said Dana Catron, deputy director at Arrowhead Center. "By fostering their growth, we are fueling the engines of disruption, paving the way for a vibrant and competitive economy."
