Interstates:

Date St. Business Loop Roundabout Project, T or C CN1101231/32

La Calerita LLC. (Contractor)continues construction on the landscaping for the I-25 Business Loop Reconstruction Project in Truth or Consequences. Crews will be working in the medians, removing detour crossovers, and installing curb and gutter. During these activities the following traffic impacts will be in place: Northbound of North Date Street will be reduced to one lane throughout the project, and Southbound North Date Street will be reduced to one lane throughout the project. NOTE: Babe Lanford St. will be fully open at North Date Street during this construction. Motorists are encouraged to use extra caution in the construction zone, obey lower posted speed limits and allow extra time to reach their destinations. Regular work hours will be 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday although the contractor may work longer hours or on weekends as needed.

I-25 Roadway Rehabilitation Project, Hatch CN1101024

Mountain States Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) will continue a roadway rehabilitation project on Interstate 25 (I-25) from milepost 34(Rincon) to milepost 41(NM 26/Hatch). Drivers can expect lane closures on both the northbound and southbound lanes of I-25 as needed. Please reduce your speed and obey traffic control devices. Roadway will be restricted to 12-foot for oversized loads. The contractor’s hours of operation will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the possibility of some weekend work.

I-25 Bridge Replacement Project, Williamsburg CN1100990

El Terrero Construction, LLC. (Contractor) will be continuing construction to replace the bridge at I-25 milepost 75, Broadway Street and NM 187 in Williamsburg. Traffic has been shifted into the northbound lanes with the on/off ramps open, access to the southbound on/off ramps are still closed. Currently crews are working on installation of southbound on/off ramps, bridge installation and drainage structures. Regular work hours will be 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday although the contractor may work longer hours or on weekends as needed. Access will be maintained to all businesses and residences during construction.

I-25 Erosion Control, Mile Markers 35.2, 35.58, 39.24, 42.58, & 43.27 Hatch/Rincon

Kimo Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) will begin work on erosion control along I-25 between Rincon and Hatch. The contractor will be performing work mostly along the roadway shoulder and under bridges, however travel lanes along I-25 may be reduced to a single lane depending on the work location, drivers should be vigilant for construction signing.  The contractor’s hours of operation are 7:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.

I-25 Guardrail Replacement Project, Mile Marker 159 to 175, Socorro

J-H Supply, Co. (Contractor) will be continuing a guardrail and end treatment project along I-25 in Socorro County from milepost 159 to 175. Motorists can expect lane closures in the northbound lane from 167-172 and the southbound lane from milepost 171-168. Overnight lane closures should be expected. The hours of operation are from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Construction is expected to be completed by Spring 2024. 

I-25 Roadway Rehabilitation Project, Mile Marker 150 to 161, north of Socorro

Mountain States Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) will be completing the roadway rehabilitation project on Interstate 25 from milepost 150 (Socorro North) to milepost 161 (Chamizal). Drivers can expect various daytime lane closures on both the northbound and southbound lanes as needed for guardrail and barrier wall placement. The contractor’s hours of operation will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

I-25 Landscaping Project, Mile Marker 2.5 top 3.7, Las Cruces LC00360

Grass Masters LLC (Contractor) is continuing a landscaping, curb and gutter, miscellaneous construction, and paving project along I-25 from milepost 3 to milepost 3.7 near Lohman Ave in Las Cruces. Crews will be working on the wall foundations and wall footing along the I-25 northbound interchange and on/off ramp. Most construction will be on the shoulders with little impact to travelers. The contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

I-10 Bridge Repairs, Mile Marker 140 to 145, Las Cruces

Hasse Construction Company, Inc. (Contractor) will have lanes closures in place on I-10 for bridge repairs. Lanes closures can be expected on either the eastbound or westbound lanes. Contractors’ working hours are Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and construction is expected to be completed by March 8, 2024.

I-10, On-Off Ramp Repairs, Mile Marker 116, Las Cruces

Mountain States Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) will begin making paving repairs to the on/off-ramps on both the eastbound and westbound ramps at milepost 116(Lazy E). Ramps will be closed during paving operations.  Traffic is encouraged to seek another route. Regular working hours are from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. ramps will be closed during these hours.

I-10, Off-Ramp Repairs, Mile Marker 139, Motel Blvd., Las Cruces

A-Mountain Construction (Contractor). Starting Monday, February 19, 2024, A-Mountain Construction (Contractor) will begin replacing broken concrete slabs on the eastbound off ramp at Motel Blvd and the northbound lanes of Motel Blvd under I-10. Closures will be in place continuously until Wednesday, February 28, 2024. Traffic is encouraged to seek an alternate route; detour signage will be in place for local traffic. The NMDOT apologies for the inconvenience and appreciates your patience. All closures are subject to change, and weather pending.

US Roadways:

US 70 Roadway Rehabilitation, Las Cruces

El Terrero Construction, LLC. (Contractor) Construction is continuing on a project to make roadway improvements to US 70 North Main Street between Spitz/N. Solano Drive and the intersection of N. Triviz Drive/Elks Drive. Crews have demolished the old bridge and will begin widening the eastbound lanes of the roadway this week. The following traffic impacts remain in place, the Alameda Arroyo trail crossing is CLOSED. One lane of traffic ONLY is open on the east side of US 70 from Elks/North Triviz to Temple and from north of Samaritan to Spitz/N. Solano. In the area of the Alameda Arroyo Bridge, there is only one lane of traffic open in each direction (eastbound and westbound) on the west side of the roadway. There are two lanes open on the west side of US 70 from Elks Drive/N. Triviz to south of Temple and from south of the Alameda Arroyo Bridge to Spitz/N. Solano. This phase of construction is expected to last about four (4) months, through May 2024, and will be followed by two additional phases, with the project scheduled to be completed in October 2024. Regular work hours are Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-5 p.m., although the contractor may work longer hours or on weekends if needed. The speed limit will be 35 miles per hour throughout the construction zone. Motorists are encouraged to be patient, expect delays and look out for construction crews and equipment.

US 380 Bridge Rehabilitation, San Antonio

AUI, Inc. (Contractor) will begin working on a bridge rehabilitation project on US 380 between mileposts 1.6 and 1.8 over the Rio Grande River.  The majority of the work will take place under and around the bridge, with no traffic impacts expected.  Drivers are asked to please obey traffic control devices if placed and be on the lookout for workers and/or equipment entering and exiting the roadway. The contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

US 70 Fog Sealing Operations, Lordsburg to Arizona Stateline

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will be Fog Sealing US 70 from milepost 0(Arizona Stateline) to milepost 28(Turnerville). Drivers are asked to please obey traffic control devices if placed and be on the lookout for workers and/or equipment entering and exiting the roadway. Pilot car operations will be in place. Regular work hours will be 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Thursday.

State Roadways:

NM 359 Bridge Rehabilitation, Mesilla

AUI, Inc. (Contractor) will continue the bridge rehabilitation project on NM 359 at milepost 1.90 over the Rio Grande.  The majority of the work will take place under and around the bridge, with no traffic impacts expected.  Drivers are asked to please obey traffic control devices if placed and be on the lookout for workers and/or equipment entering and exiting the roadway. The contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

NM 26 Bridge Rehabilitation, Hatch

La Calerita Construction (Contractor) will continue with bridge rehabilitation work on NM 26 at milepost 47.7 over Interstate 25.  The contractor has begun deck repair on the westbound lane of the bridge. During this time, the westbound lane over the bridge will be completely closed to traffic.  As a result, the I-25 northbound exit (Exit 41) will be closed, and traffic will be detoured through the Rincon Exit (Exit 35).  Eastbound traffic over the bridge will be open, along with I-25 northbound on-ramp.  I-25 southbound exits will be unaffected. The work on the deck is expected to last through Friday, February 23rd, 2024.  During this time, the westbound direction and I-25 off-ramp will be closed during daily working hours which will be Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.  All travel lanes will remain open during the weekends and evening/nighttime hours. 

NM 157 Bridge Rehabilitation, Radium Springs

AUI, Inc. (Contractor) will begin working on a bridge rehabilitation project on NM 157 at milepost 0.1 over the Leasburg Canal.  The majority of the work will take place under and around the bridge, with no traffic impacts expected.  Drivers are asked to please obey traffic control devices if placed and be on the lookout for workers and/or equipment entering and exiting the roadway. The contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

NM 549, Roadway Rehabilitation, Deming

Mountain States Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) will be continuing roadway rehabilitation project on NM 549 from milepost 10 to 22.  Drivers can expect lane closures on both the eastbound and westbound lanes of NM 549 as needed. A temporary traffic light with a pilot car operation will be in place, please reduce your speed and obey traffic control devices. Roadway will be restricted to 12-foot for oversized loads. The contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the possibility of some weekend work.

NM 101 Utility Replacement, Mesilla

JGF Built LLC (Contractor) will be replacing the underground utilities on NM 101 from milepost 0 to 0.8 (Intersection of Avenida de Mesilla and University Ave.) in the Town of Mesilla. Roadway is open but may be reclosed in the next month to finalize utility replacements. The contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Drivers should expect delays and plan accordingly.

NM 26 Bridge Rehabilitation, Deming/Nutt CN1102010

Meridian Contracting, Inc. (Contractor) is currently finalizing the bridge rehabilitation project on NM 26 “Hatch Hwy” at milepost 26.8 near Nutt. Speed limits may be reduced, please obey traffic control devices. Roadway will be restricted to 11-foot for oversized loads. The contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

NM 404 Roadway Widening, Anthony to Chaparral

Mountain States Constructors, Inc. (Contractor), will be continuing the roadway reconstruction and lighting project on NM 404 from milepost 0.9 (Anthony) to milepost 8.8 (Chaparral). Traffic has been shifted into the westbound lanes so construction can begin on the eastbound lanes except in the areas where culvert box placement is still in process. Currently, the contractor is installing subgrade preparation, Base Course, and Hot Mix. The speed limit has been reduced to 45 MPH for the safety of the traveling public. The contractor’s regular hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, some weekends as needed. 

City of Las Cruces Projects:

Sonoma Ranch Blvd.

As part of the Sonoma Ranch Mile 1 Construction Project, Sonoma Ranch Boulevard is reduced to one lane in each direction between Sierra Ventana Avenue and Sirocco Avenue while roadway improvements are being completed. The intersection of Peachtree Hills Road and Sonoma Ranch Boulevard will be closed for approximately 1.5 months while utility and roadway improvements are being completed. Detours will be in place directing traffic around the road closure.  Commuters are urged to follow all posted signs. The entire project is estimated to be completed by April 2024.

Midway Avenue

As part of the Midway Avenue Reconstruction, roadway and utility improvements will be done by Morrow Enterprises, Inc. (Contractor) Midway Avenue between Gasline Road and Mesa Drive will be closed to through traffic. The project is estimated to be completed by early 2024.

Bellamah Drive

Las Cruces Motorist are advised that Bellamah Dr. from S. Locust St. to S. Lees Dr. will be continuing with utility improvements and roadway improvements by A-Mountain Construction (Contractor) as part of the City of Las Cruces Bellamah Drive Reconstruction Project. Construction and the road closure is estimated to last until approximately June 2024 for phase 2. Resident access will be maintained at all times. Signage and detours will be present directing traffic around the work zone.

Elks Drive

Morrow Enterprises Inc. (Contractor) crews will begin installing the multi-use trail along Elks Drive in Las Cruces. Elks Drive will be shifted into a one lane road in the southbound direction. A detour for northbound traffic will be from Taylor Rd. to El Camino Real Road or E Dona Ana School Road to El Camino Real Road. This closure will be in place 24/7 until construction is complete, working hours are 7 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday.

The westbound mainlines of I-10 are detoured onto North Desert Boulevard at Los Mochis Drive.

North Desert Boulevard is closed to all traffic at Enchanted Hills Drive.

Vinton Avenue is closed to all traffic at South Desert Boulevard.

The direct connector ramp from westbound Loop 375 (Transmountain Road) to eastbound I-10 is closed to all traffic.

Eastbound I-10 is reduced to one lane from north of Transmountain Road to Redd Road.

Westbound I-10 is reduced to one lane from Redd Road to north of Transmountain Road.Alternating nighttime lane closures are possible on eastbound and westbound I-10 between Redd Road and Anthony, Texas.

Alternating daytime lane closures are possible on North Desert Boulevard and South Desert Boulevard between Redd Road and Anthony, Texas.
