$1,993,000 Allocated for Broadband Workforce Development Trailer, Curriculum, and Training in New Mexico

Santa Fe, NM - The State of New Mexico Office of Broadband Access and Expansion (OBAE) is set to receive a significant boost in resources for workforce development thanks to efforts of Senators Luján and Heinrich. A total of $1,993,000 has been allocated to support the establishment of a broadband workforce development trailer, curriculum development, and training initiatives across the state.

This funding injection comes at a critical time when the demand for skilled broadband professionals is on the rise, and access to high-speed internet is more essential than ever before. The investment will enable the Office of Broadband Access and Expansion to enhance its capacity to train and prepare individuals for careers in the broadband industry, ultimately strengthening New Mexico's digital infrastructure and workforce.

The broadband workforce development trailer will serve as a mobile training facility, equipped with state-of-the-art technology and educational resources to deliver hands-on training experiences to communities across the state. This innovative approach ensures that individuals in rural and underserved areas have access to quality broadband education and training opportunities, leveling the playing field and fostering economic growth and innovation statewide.

In addition to the workforce development trailer, a portion of the funds will be dedicated to curriculum development, ensuring that training programs are aligned with industry standards and tailored to meet the evolving needs of the broadband sector.
