In-Person Public Meeting for the I-25 Safety & Capacity Study

The New Mexico Department of Transportation, in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration, is hosting an In-Person Public Meeting for the I-25 Safety & Capacity Study, on I-25 from the Lohman Interchange to the Doña Ana Interchange and NM 320 (Thorpe Road) from Barela Drive to I-25. The purpose of the study is to improve safety, accommodate regional growth, and address deficiencies (e.g., pavement, drainage, Americans with Disabilities Act facilities, roadway geometry, access control, and multi-modal connectivity).

Informational Meeting in TorC on Spaceport America Master Plan

Public Invited to Informational Meeting in TorC on Spaceport America Master Plan

RS&H invites the public to provide input on the future of Spaceport America.

[Truth or Consequences (TorC), NM] RS&H will host a third Spaceport America Master Plan Public Meeting in TorC to solicit public input. The two previous public meetings took place in Las Cruces and Albuquerque. The next public meeting for the Spaceport America Master Plan takes place on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at the Sierra County Administration Office, 1712 N Date St, Truth or Consequences, NM 87901, from 6 – 8 p.m. Doors will open to the public at 5:30 p.m.

NM first electric vehicle car share program in Albuquerque

(Albuquerque, NM) – PNM, along with the City of Albuquerque, the Land of Enchantment Clean Cities Coalition, and Sol Housing have come together with FORTH to launch the state’s first Affordable Mobility Platform (AMP) made possible by U.S. Department of Energy grant funding.

“PNM is proud to help bring this carsharing program to our state,” said Don Tarry, President and COO of PNM. “Being able to help provide folks with access to affordable transportation is extremely important. What makes this even better is that people will be able to get a first hand experience with an electric vehicle.”

DEA El Paso hiring Special Agents to work in local offices

EL PASO – On Monday Feb. 26 beginning at midnight, the Drug Enforcement Administration’s El Paso Division will be accepting applications for Special Agents to work in one of five local offices: El Paso, Midland, or Alpine, Texas or Las Cruces, Roswell, or Albuquerque, New Mexico. Upon completion of a 16 to 20-week basic agent training (BAT) course in Quantico, Virginia, the hired applicants will return to the local office they chose on their application. Interested candidates should apply on www.usajobs.gov . The posting will close on March 11 at midnight, or when 100 applications have been received, whichever comes first.

Closure of I-10 eastbound at Texas stateline area continues

ROAD ADVISORY:
ROAD CLOSURE – Texas Stateline Area
All I-10 eastbound lanes into Texas will be closed starting at 1 p.m. due to road work. Closure will be in place at Vinton, traffic will have to use exit 2 as a detour. Motorists are asked to reduce speed, obey posted signs, and be cautious of personnel and equipment in the area. Please expect delays. The closure will be lifted at approximately 10 p.m.

NMSU, local performers to showcase talents at dance concert

Dancers and musicians from New Mexico State University will join local performers during “Reignite: A Dance Concert,” hosted by the NMSU Dance program March 1-3.

The concert will showcase NMSU dance majors and minors who will perform in an eclectic range of choreographies, including contemporary, hip-hop, flamenco, tap and Latin ballroom. Choreographers include NMSU dance faculty Applehelen Kirby, Ana Suffle, George Torres Jr. and Ryan McMullen, director of the NMSU Dance program.
