EMNRD is accepting applications for the Community Energy Efficiency Development Block Grant Program
Block grant program will lower energy use and expenses in New Mexico’s undeserved communities

SANTA FE, NM – The New Mexico Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department is accepting applications for the Community Energy Efficiency Development (CEED) Block Grant Program.

The CEED Program was developed to facilitate targeted energy efficiency improvements in underserved communities by providing block grants to local governments in partnership with community organizations.

EDD launches award for advanced energy innovation and commercialization

SANTA FE, N.M. – The New Mexico Economic Development Department (EDD) today launched the New Mexico Advanced Energy Award Pilot Program, a new state grant focused on supporting technology growth and commercialization in advanced energy technologies.

The New Mexico Advanced Energy Award Pilot Program is a competitive state-funded grant that awards non-dilutive funds to proposals in advanced energy innovation and commercialization from New Mexico small businesses engaged in research and development. The funds seek to assist early-stage companies developing a unique product with strong growth potential.

AG Day showcases New Mexico agriculture Nov. 4, 2023

Well, Nov. 4 is your lucky day. The New Mexico Department of Agriculture (NMDA) and the New Mexico State University (NMSU) College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences (ACES) will host the tenth edition of AG Day prior to the NMSU football game.

 
The street festival is free to the public and will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Pan American south parking lot and the Aggie Memorial Stadium northeast parking lot. The day will culminate with the NMSU vs. Middle Tennessee football game at 4 p.m.


New Mexico Beef Council, American AgCredit (formerly Farm Credit of New Mexico) and Exxon Mobil are the Grand Champion Sponsors of the event. AG Day is an opportunity to learn about agriculture through numerous educational booths, many of which by NMSU College of ACES departments, programs and groups and NMSU student organizations. Several booths will also feature local agricultural organizations and businesses.

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) and John Hoeven (R-N.D.) announced that the U.S. Senate has passed a bipartisan resolution they introduced to designate November 4, 2023, as National Bison Day.

"Bison have been a critical part of our culture for generations, in New Mexico, across the West, and especially in Indian Country," said Heinrich. "They represent resiliency and are an enduring symbol of American strength. I’m proud to lead this bipartisan resolution with Senator Hoeven to recognize our national mammal and bring greater attention to the ongoing effort to conserve this unique species."

New Mexico Tourism Department selects 10 tourism infrastructure projects for inaugural Destination Forward program
 
SANTA FE – The New Mexico Tourism Department (NMTD) is furthering its commitment to destination stewardship with the launch of the Destination Forward program.

 NMTD identified 10 tourism-related infrastructure projects intended to enhance the visitor experience at tourism-related amenities, facilities and points-of-interest throughout New Mexico. Each project will be supported through a grant from NMTD that will cover up to $500,000 in expenses. Destination Forward grants will support the renovation, modernization, planning, design and construction of new or existing tourism infrastructure projects.
