Martha Ann Yarborough Little, 99, a Silver City resident passed away on Wednesday, July 31 2013 at Millie’s Assisted Living Center in Silver City, NM.
A graveside service was held on Friday, August 2, 2013 at Memory Lane Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Silver City at 2 O’clock in the afternoon on Sunday, August 4, 2013.
She was born on March 8, 1914 in Montague, Texas to Robert Lee and Pinksy Evans (Taylor) Yarborough. She came to New Mexico in 1919 and to Silver City in 1935 to attend New Mexico State Teachers’ College. She married William Orval Little in 1937 and they had three children; Barbara, Fred and Candace. She was busy in many organizations which include Rebecca’s, Garden Club, Woman’s Club, Delta Gamma, Home Extension, Widows’ Club. She was active in the First Baptist Church of Silver City. She taught school for 20 years mostly in the Cobre District and retired in 1977. She loved to travel and has embarked on her greatest journey.
She is survived by her children; Barbara Peters and husband Thayne, Fred Little and wife Kathryn and Candace Ross; her sister Geneva Richards, eight grandchildren; Lee Ann Hoppman, Christopher T. and Ralph D. Peters, Martha Jones Natividad, Travis and Wade Dawson, Rhonda Kathleen Van Dran and Frederick Dean Little and 17 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her mother, father, sister Eva B. Little and her husband.
