Dodie Alvarado 2 rsDodie Alvarado 1 rsRosalina "Dodie" P. Alvarado, 63, a resident of Bayard, NM entered eternal rest Friday, July 1, 2016 at Mimbres Memorial Hospital in Deming, NM.

She was born October 14, 1952 in Silver City to Felix Polanco and Elvira Mendoza.

Dodie was an outdoors person. She retired from the Cobre Consolidated Schools as a teacher's assistant. She loved to go watch softball and Little League games and other sporting events. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She loved to drink Pepsi and go the casinos. She was a member of the Moose Lodge.

She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Robert "Raton" Alvarado of the family home; one son, Luis Alvarado (Michelle) of Silver City; two daughters, Teresa Gonzales (Armando) of Bayard; Marisa Alvarado of Silver City; four grandchildren, Alexis, Ariel, Luis Jr., and Matthew; one sister, Sara Carrasco (Bobby) of Silver City; four god-daughters, Darlene Terrazas McBride, Joanna Holguin, Denise Arzola and Veronica Santa Maria; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Mary Hurtado; one granddaughter, Angelina Gonzales; one nephew, Roger "Roggie" Carrasco; in-laws, Angel and Manuela Alvarado.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 6 from 5-6pm the prayer vigil and holy rosary will follow at 6pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with Dr. Gilbert Arizaga reciting. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, July 7 at 10am at Our Lady of Fatima Church with Father Paulus Kao officiating. Concluding service and interment will follow at Hanover cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Alexis Alvarado, Matthew Gonzales, Robert Dean Carrasco, Bobby Joe Carrillo, Joey Gonzales, Donald Rodriguez, Chris Gonzales, Tony Gonzales and Ronnie Sierra. Honorary pallbearers will be Virginia Rodriguez, comadre Lupe Gonzales and Priscilla Sierra and the rest of her family and friends.
