elsiegarciaElsie Gomez Garcia born May 17, 1934 in Hatch NM, entered our Grand Creators Loving Memory April 12, 2021 at her home in Silver City with her special Caregiver Maria Cabrera by her side.

Elsie was born the 4th youngest child in Hatch, NM to Simon Gomez and Francisca Silva Gomez. Her siblings are Juanita Gomez Castaneda (Johnny), Bertha Gomez Nanez, Felipe Gomez (Mary), Ramon Gomez (Peggy). Elsie met and married Estevan G Garcia in 1955 and started their 49 year life together in Silver City. Elsie loved gardening and keeping a tidy and beautiful lawn. She loved her grandchildren dearly and enjoyed spending her time with them and watching them grow.

She was a faithful Guadalupana of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church. She was always hospitable to all. Upon the passing of her husband in 2004 she became a Grandma with the Silver Consolidated schools and was a proud happy Grandma to many children in the schools. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband, and granddaughter Monique Fierro. Elsie leaves behind her daughter Marina Fierro (Richard), son Steven Garcia (Jeneeta) and grandchildren Josiah Fierro, Samantha Garcia, Justin Roper, Steven Garcia. Great grandchildren Miklo Fierro, Cruz Fierro, Brianna Fierro, Ricque Fierro, AlexZandra Fierro, Annabella Maldonado, and Alexandria Maldonado; several nieces and nephews. Elsie leaves a legacy of kindness, compassion and unconditional Love for everyone. The Family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Horizon Hospice for their diligent loving care.

The holy rosary will be held on Monday, April 19 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church at 11am with Irene Gomez reciting.  The funeral mass will follow at 11:30am with Father Oliver Obele officiating. Concluding service and interment will take place at Fort Bayard National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband. Pallbearers are Miklo Fierro, Steven Garcia, Justin Roper, Mark Lopez, Mark Gomez, and Josiah Fierro.
