tillis1Jimmy Tillis, 79, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022. He was born on September 13, 1942 to his parents, Jimmy Lee Tillis Sr. and Eloise Chambers Tillis in Morton, Mississippi. Jim was a dedicated husband, father and friend. He was loved by all. He had a passion for preaching the good news of God’s word to others. He also loved traveling, listening to music and enjoying a good barbecue. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. We have hope that we’ll be reunited with our beloved Jimmy.  

He is survived by his spouse Mary H. Tillis of Silver City, NM; his four sons, Ronald Tillis of Las Cruces, NM, Cedric Tillis (Angelica) of Odesa, Texas, Shawn Tillis (Jean Marie) of Mesa Arizona, Kevin Tillis (Jamie) of Michigan; his three step daughters, Geanna Gray of Silver City, NM, Vicky Broom and Roxanne Curtis (Nicholas); his one brother Lydell Tillis of Colorado; his one sister Pamela Tillis of Colorado; his seven grandchildren and his 3 great grandchildren; his nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; his four brothers, Bobby Tillis, Fred Tillis, Alan Tillis and Randy Tillis; his two sisters, Sharon Tillis and Glenda Tillis.  

Family will be having his services at 3:00pm on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 2415 Pinos Altos Rd, Silver City, NM 88061.

Cremation will take place at Terrazas Crematory. Arrangements are with Terrazas Funeral Chapels and Crematory “Trusted care for the ones you love ~ 575-537-0777. To send condolences, visit www.terrazasfuneralchapel.com.
