RodriguezJosieJosephine Gonzales Rodriguez, 84, lifelong resident of Deming entered eternal rest on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at her home.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 5 to 7 o’clock in the evening at Baca’s Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will be held the following day Friday March 22, 2024 at 11 o’clock in the morning at Mountain View Cemetery. Pastor Tony Guerrero will officiate. Cremation has been entrusted to Baca’s Mimbres Crematory.

Josephine was born December 15, 1939 in Deming, New Mexico to Ernest Valverde and Reynalda Gonzales. She met and married Rodolfo E. Rodriguez and together raised their 4 children. Josephine will be remembered in many ways but more people will remember her by her unconditional love and help for others. She was very unselfish and looked forward to helping people in any way she could. She would pray for people and always offered them good advice.

But she was also very blunt and told you how it was. Josephine always put others before herself, no matter how hard times were for her she always did her best to help the people around her. She was a very sweet, outgoing, and down to earth woman and she always greeted you with a smile. Josephine was a very loving and caring mother to her children, especially to her grandchildren. She was a prayer warrior and her biggest quote to all was “Don’t stop the blessing.”

She is survived by her children Raul (Tricia) Rodriguez, Jaime (Rosie) Rodriguez, Irene Rodriguez, and Norma Cordova; a sister Sylvia St. John and her 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents Ernest Valverde and Reynalda Gonzales and her husband Rodolfo E. Rodriguez.
