GuerreroBBarbara Martinez Guerrero, lifelong resident of Lordsburg, NM peacefully entered Eternal rest on Sunday, April14, 2024 in Lordsburg, NM, surrounded by her loving family.

Family viewing will begin at 9 a.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, with Visitation at 9:30 a.m. The Holy Rosary will be recited by her grandson, Randy A. Rodriguez and daughter-in-law Sandra Guerrero, at 10:00 a.m. The Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Father Jude Okonkwo officiating. Internment will take place at Shakespeare Cemetery following the mass. Serving as pallbearers are Joseph M. Guerrero, Jr., Adam Michael Guerrero, Lorenzo A. Guerrero, Randy A. Rodriguez, Silas Hutchcraft, and Louie Baisa. Honorary pallbearers are Gabriel Guerrero, Jr., Joseph Guerrero, Sr., Lorenzo Guerrero, Rudy Arambula, Sr., Randy Rodriguez and all her nephews.

Bobbie, as she was known to most, was born on May 17, 1931, in Lordsburg, NM. She is survived by her sons Gabriel G. Guerrero, Jr. (Maria) of Lordsburg, Joseph Guerrero, Sr. (Sandra) of Las Cruces, NM, Lorenzo M. Guerrero (Donna) of Morenci, AZ, daughters Connie G. Baisa (Louie) of Lordsburg, and Juanita M. Guerrero (Randy Rodriguez) of Lordsburg, sisters Josephine (Chavez) Lopez of Alamogordo, NM, Crescencia De La Garza of Green Valley, AZ, and Berna Arambula (Rudy) of Lordsburg and brothers Cornelio Ozeta, Jr. of Hilo, HI and Frank Ozeta, Sr. (Etelvina) of Wilcox, AZ. She is also survived by grandchildren Barbara Hutchcraft (Aaron) of Carterville, MO, Joseph M. Guerrero, Jr. (Amanda) of Lordsburg, Adam Michael Guerrero of Las Cruces, NM, Victoria Baisa of Gilbert, AZ, Sonia Trujillo (Adam) of Lordsburg, Patricia Baisa of Las Cruces, NM, Lorenzo A. Guerrero (Roxanne) of Gallup, NM, and Randy A. Rodriguez of El Paso, TX and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Gabriel G. Guerrero, Sr., their son Adam Benito Guerrero, her parents Cornelio and Dolores Ozeta, sister Juanita Sandoval, brother Valentine Silvas, daughters-in-law Carmen V. Guerrero and Jo McPeak Dodson, great-grandson Connor Paul Guerrero and several nieces and nephews.

Bobbie attended Lordsburg Schools, graduating from Lordsburg High School in 1950. While in high school, she was the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Bazaar Queen and her senior year, the football homecoming queen. On August 8, 1953, she married the love of her life, Gabriel G. Guerrero, a union that would last 69 years until Gabriel's passing in March 2023. She was a homemaker most of her life and was known for her loving nature and kindness and especially her unselfishness. Bobbie would always offer food to any visitor that came to her home and was affectionately known for her delicious homemade tortillas and beans. She enjoyed telenovelas and other TV shows. She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lordsburg.
