Thomas Leland Brake, 83, a Navy Veteran and resident of Silver City, NM, entered eternal rest Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Del Sol Medical Center in El Paso, TX. Arrangements are pending with Terrazas Funeral Chapels ~ 575-537-0777.
James Eugene Britton, 66, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Tuesday, December 23, 2024 at his residence. Arrangements are pending with Terrazas Funeral Chapels ~ 575-537-0777.
Kevin Patrick O'Leary, 69, of Silver City, NM, was tragically killed in a bicycling accident on November 23, 2024. Kevin was born on February 27, 1955, to Raymond and Rita O'Leary in Quantico, VA. He lived in several states growing up and graduated from Tongue River High School in Dayton, Wyoming.
With bachelor's degrees in History and Electrical Engineering, and a master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Kevin had a very engaging career working for Texas Instruments in Midland, TX, Rockwell International in Atlanta, GA, and VLSI Technologies in Phoenix, AZ. He was able to retire early and spent the last twenty years of his life undertaking challenging adventures. Kevin was known for being passionate about whatever he was doing, so when he started hiking, he didn't just go hiking. He completed both the Pacific Crest Trail (from Mexico to Canada) and the Appalachian Trail (from Georgia to Maine) multiple times.
Steven Ramon Cayias, 74, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at Gila Regional Medical Center. Cremation has been entrusted to Baca's Funeral Chapels.

Esther M. Wycoff, age 87, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2024 surrounded by her husband and children.
Esther is survived by her devoted husband, Billy Wycoff; her children Christina (Bruce) Calvery, Vicky (Kevin) Covey, and Brian (Linde) Wycoff; her grandchildren, Tim (Sheree) Aschenbrenner, Larry (Amy) Covey, Alicia (Daniel) Griffin, Tabatha (Robert) Sorenson, Wendy (Mike) Montgomery, Brittnie (Justin) Kryla, and Megan Calvery; 12 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Terri Bailey and her brother, Wayne Chitwood. Esther was lovingly devoted to supporting her husband for 69 years and raising her four children.
A celebration of Esther's life will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Mimbres Valley Learning Center, 2300 E Pine St, Room 144, Deming, New Mexico from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Maria Baca Chavez, 99, of Silver City passed away Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Gila Regional Medical Center.
Maria was born November 1, 1925 in Silver City, New Mexico to Josefa Arroyos and Julio Baca. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, wife, and aunt who was strongly devoted to her family and friends.
Visitation will take place at five o'clock in the evening on Friday, December 20, 2024 at Baca's Funeral Chapel in Silver City. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary and Prayer Vigil will begin at six o'clock. The Funeral Mass will be held at ten o'clock in the morning on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Silver City. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Saint Vincent de Paul Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Rick Chavez, Andrea Chavez, Alexa Chavez, Manuel Lucero, Carlos Lucero, and Mario Flores. Honorary Pallbearers are her many nieces and nephews.
