RPNM Blasts Heinrich Over Alleged Pay to Play Scandal

ALBUQUERQUE, APRIL 30—On Monday, the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT), a non-profit ethics watchdog group, called for an investigation into Senator Martin Heinrich for reportedly linking official action with solicitations for campaign contributions.

The United States ethics rules strictly prohibit senators from directly linking official action to campaign contributions.

“Federal law and Senate ethics rules do not allow senators to fundraise based upon their official duties, in part because it would lead to the public rightfully question whether the senator’s primary concern was their political campaign,” said Kendra Arnold, executive director of FACT.

67 Interns Graduate from Outdoor Economy Workforce Training

SANTA FE, N.M. – The New Mexico Outdoor Recreation Division (ORD) of the New Mexico Economic Development Department (EDD) announces the third cohort of high school students to graduate from New Mexico’s first paid outdoor industry internship program.

The program, sponsored by ORD, is run by Future Focused Education (FFE), an Albuquerque-based nonprofit that seeks to better connect underserved and nontraditional students to college and careers.

Since fall 2021, the paid outdoor internship program has placed 67 students with 14 outdoor recreation industry employers in Taos, Santa Fe, Albuquerque, and Las Cruces. This participation level represents tremendous growth over the first cohort, which consisted of only three interns, announced in September 2021.

Dock fishing returns to Brantley Lake State Park

A donation from the Great Outdoors Fund and Occidental revived this popular attraction

CARLSBAD, NM – Calling all anglers! New Mexico State Parks is excited to announce the return of a floating fishing dock to Brantley Lake State Park, our southernmost lake and outdoor recreation area in Eddy County, New Mexico. New Mexico State Parks staff and volunteers with non-profit The Great Outdoors Fund and Occidental descended on the park to install a new walkway and floating fishing dock at the Seven Rivers Boat Ramp.

Closure removed: Partial opening on I-40 westbound 042824

I-40 both westbound and westbound lanes are now open. Heavy congestion should be expected on I-40,  I-25, NM 26, and I-10.

ROAD ADVISORY UPDATE
ARIZONA TRAIN DERAILMENT- Traffic advised to
I-40 westbound lanes are now open, a slow roll is in place with police escort. Fires are still burning and traffic may encounter areas of heavy smoke. I-40 eastbound lanes are still closed with detour in place on I-10 to I-25, expected reopening late today April 28, 2024. Motorists are asked to reduce speed, obey posted signs, and watch for emergency personnel, and equipment. Please expect delays. This post will be updated as conditions change.

Heavy congestion should be expected on I-40, I-25, NM 26, and I-10.
