Is HMS failing Grant County under CEO Otero?

Every year each Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in the country submits the Uniform Data System (UDS) report to Health Resource Service Administration (HRSA). Part of this 60+ page report contains data on 17 quality measures. All this data is public information and is usually released in August following the most recent reporting year.
HMS's Performance in 2024
Several measures show consistent declines in performance from 2018 to 2024, indicating potential areas of concern:

Slight drying trend this weekend with an increased chance of moisture next week. We remain in long term drought and the forecasted model for the winter is dry and warm. We continue in High Fire Danger for the Forest.

August 21, 2025 I Sixth Judicial District Attorney Norman R. Wheeler announced today that DAVID PADILLA, 45, was found Guilty by a Silver City Jury to 1 Count: Aggravated Burglary, a second-degree felony, occurring on or about May 25, 2024. This case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney's J.P. Silva and Hector Bejarano.
On May 25, 2024, Silver City Police officers responded to a report of an aggravated burglary at the Silver City Dog Park. The victim stated that while he was at the park, he heard his truck alarm activate. Running to his vehicle, he observed an individual—later identified as Padilla—inside the truck, seated in the driver's seat. Padilla appeared to be tampering with the area around the steering wheel and searching the glove compartment.

have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

Pinos Altos, NM — The Grant County Sheriff's Department is investigating a series of recent burglaries that occurred in the Pinos Altos area on August 18 and 19, 2025. Residents are urged to remain vigilant and take precautionary measures to protect their property.
At this time, investigators are actively pursuing leads and working to identify the individuals responsible. The Sheriff's Department is asking the public to assist by reporting any suspicious persons, vehicles, or activities in the area.
